This may be stating the obvious, but I want to ensure its said.

Any script to generate AUTHORS should always be ADDITIVE.

It should NOT be making a new file from scratch from info scanned from Git or 
whatever.

Instead it should do its Git searching work but then ADD any unique new entries 
not already in the AUTHORS to AUTHORS.

All entries already in AUTHORS should be guaranteed to be left alone.
