It's not about spam. Yes, anyone can spent few seconds on
favourite-search-engine to get my email address.

It's just about consistency. Inconsistent systems make me vomit :-( (some
sort of perfectionist).

And why I'm using different email address?
Information categorization. I'm using gmail's features filters and labels
to categorize incoming emails (yes, even ignore them)
by address they were sent to.
