Thank you.  I found that my code needs to say:

     use experimental 'isa';


If my code says:

     use feature 'isa';

then my Perl 5.32.1 says:

     isa is experimental at (eval 8) line ...
     isa is experimental at (eval 8) line ...
     isa is experimental at (eval 8) line ...
