A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.
Specialization is for insects.

We are glad to announce version 5.27.10
the eleventh development release of version 27 of Perl 5.

You will soon be able to download Perl 5.27.10 from your favorite CPAN mirror or find it at:

https://metacpan.org/release/toddr/perl-5.27.10

SHA1 digests for this release are:

b37744a0deafbc21056112eea9117eb07ee925da perl-5.27.10.tar.gz 5b851168158c6511a29816c8c14b3202f898369b perl-5.27.10.tar.xz

You can find a full list of changes in the file "perldelta.pod" located in the "pod" directory inside the release and on the web at

https://metacpan.org/pod/release/toddr/perl-5.27.10/pod/perldelta.pod

Perl 5.27.10 represents approximately 4 weeks of development since Perl
5.27.9 and contains approximately 80,000 lines of changes across 380 files from 18 authors.

Excluding auto-generated files, documentation and release tools, there were approximately 75,000 lines of changes to 270 .pm, .t, .c and .h files.

Perl continues to flourish into its third decade thanks to a vibrant community of users and developers. The following people are known to have contributed the improvements that became Perl 5.27.10:

Aaron Crane, Chris 'BinGOs' Williams, Craig A. Berry, Daniel Dragan, David Mitchell, Father Chrysostomos, H.Merijn Brand, James E Keenan, Karl Williamson, Pali, Renee Baecker, Sawyer X, Shoichi Kaji, Steve Hay, Todd Rinaldo, Tony Cook, Yves Orton, Zefram.

The list above is almost certainly incomplete as it is automatically generated from version control history. In particular, it does not include the names of the (very much appreciated) contributors who reported issues to the Perl bug tracker.

Many of the changes included in this version originated in the CPAN modules included in Perl's core. We're grateful to the entire CPAN community for helping Perl to flourish.

For a more complete list of all of Perl's historical contributors, please see the F<AUTHORS> file in the Perl source distribution.

We expect to release version 5.27.11 on April 20, 2018 The next major stable release of Perl 5, version 28.0, should appear in May 2018.

Good luck. We're all counting on you,
Todd
