DAVEM TPF grant#2 report #168

Apart from working on blocker tickets, I mainly spent last week
investigating the possibility of storing short strings directly in the
head of an SV, eliminating the need for an SV body or malloced string
buffer. The short conclusion is that it probably wont work robustly.
