Pooh always liked a little something at eleven o'clock in the
morning, and he was very glad to see Rabbit getting out the plates
and mugs; and when Rabbit said, "Honey or condensed milk with
your bread?" he was so excited that he said, "Both," and then,
so as not to seem greedy, he added, "But don't bother about the
  bread, please."

We are happy to announce version 25.9, the 10th development release of
version 25 of Perl 5.

You will soon be able to download Perl 5.25.9 from your favorite
CPAN mirror or find it at:

https://metacpan.org/release/ABIGAIL/perl-5.25.9/

SHA1 digests for this release are:

 c62a2b21cf5f6321ff25845a072a8d8bc3b374e9 perl-5.25.9.tar.gz
 710716946da395c7de9d6b0332f0e4512ea587f3 perl-5.25.9.tar.bz2
 3de963b455a6c9a72a93e2f403f7506046fa516f perl-5.25.9.tar.xz

You can find a full list of changes in the file "perldelta.pod" located in
the "pod" directory inside the release and on the web at

https://metacpan.org/pod/release/ABIGAIL/perl-5.25.9/pod/perldelta.pod

Perl 5.25.9 represents approximately 4 weeks of development since Perl 5.25.8
and contains approximately 24,000 lines of changes across 400 files from 23
authors.

Excluding auto-generated files, documentation and release tools, there were
approximately 17,000 lines of changes to 220 .pm, .t, .c and .h files.

Perl continues to flourish into its third decade thanks to a vibrant community
of users and developers. The following people are known to have contributed the
improvements that became Perl 5.25.9:

Aaron Crane, Abigail, Andreas König, Andy Lester, Aristotle Pagaltzis
Chris 'BinGOs' Williams, Craig A. Berry, Dagfinn Ilmari Mannsåker, Dan Collins,
David Mitchell, Father Chrysostomos, Hugo van der Sanden, James E Keenan,
Jerry D. Hedden, John Lightsey, Karl Williamson, Paul Marquess, Peter Avalos,
Sawyer X, Steve Hay, Tomasz Konojacki, Tony Cook, Zefram.

The list above is almost certainly incomplete as it is automatically generated
from version control history. In particular, it does not include the names of
the (very much appreciated) contributors who reported issues to the Perl bug
tracker.

Many of the changes included in this version originated in the CPAN modules
included in Perl's core. We're grateful to the entire CPAN community for
helping Perl to flourish.

For a more complete list of all of Perl's historical contributors, please see
the AUTHORS file in the Perl source distribution.

We expect to release version 5.25.10 on February 20, 2017. The next major
stable release of Perl 5, version 26.0, should appear in May 2017.

Regards,

Abigail
