   it is a bug. The thread continues [23]here.

   James E. Keenan [24]reported intermittent failures on compiling due to
   maketables.lst build.

  Suggested patches

   Karl Williamson provided a tentative patch for [34]Perl #126310 (no
   "Malformed UTF-8 character" warning on single-quoted strings under "use
   utf8"). Father Chrysostomos approved with some suggestions.

   Yaroslav Kuzmin [35]provided a patch to remove limitations in z/OS
for the
   function fopen.

Discussion

   There is an interesting [36]discussion on why toke.c (the tokenizer code)
   cannot be refactored into multiple files.

   Karl Williamson pushed a fix to a problem [37]reported by Father
   Chrysostomos regarding warnings from clang on unused functions for
   non-static functions in inline.h.
