This is a bug report for perl from zefram@fysh.org,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.40 running under perl 5.24.0.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
[Please describe your issue here]

Experimenting as a result of [perl #128213], I ran into some cases where
a quantified anchor gives the wrong result:

$ perl -le 'print "ab" =~ /\A{3}a/ ? "yes" : "no"'
no
$ perl -le 'print "ab" =~ /\A{1}a/ ? "yes" : "no"'
no
$ perl -le 'print "ab" =~ /\A+a/ ? "yes" : "no"'
no
$ perl -le 'print "ab" =~ /(?:\A){3}a/ ? "yes" : "no"'
no
$ perl -le 'print "ab" =~ /b(?:\z){3}/ ? "yes" : "no"'
no

Nearby expressions work fine:

$ perl -le 'print "ab" =~ /(?:(?:)\A){3}a/ ? "yes" : "no"'
yes
$ perl -le 'print "ab" =~ /(?:\A(?:)){3}a/ ? "yes" : "no"'
yes
$ perl -le 'print "ab" =~ /\A(?:){3}a/ ? "yes" : "no"'
yes
$ perl -le 'print "ab" =~ /^{3}a/ ? "yes" : "no"'
yes
$ perl -le 'print "ab" =~ /a(?:){3}b/ ? "yes" : "no"'
yes
$ perl -le 'print "ab" =~ /b(?:$){3}/ ? "yes" : "no"'
yes

Applying "use re 'debug'" shows that the expressions are all correctly
interpreted as quantified anchors, but the compiled regexps handle the
iteration using different op sequences.
