Usually, #p5p on irc.perl.org is mentioned here only in passing.  It's not
exactly official, whatever that might mean.

Anyway, tonight, I took out the heads of all the five families.

Or, rather, I deopped all the op bots that re-op people automatically.  MagNet
now provides built-in services for this purpose, and we'll rely on that.  I
have also de-opped almost everyone, save for a few committers I could identify.
I have granted persistent access to those who were registered with nickserv.
Others have access "for now."

If you are a committer, use irc.perl.org, *have registered your nick with
nickserv*, and would like halfop access on #p5p, please email me.

The selection of "committer" is somewhat arbitrary, but the purpose of ops is
only to kick out the unacceptable.  I think it will be just fine.  If you must,
please object privately at least at first, to keep this from becoming…
"a thing."
