As one contributor put it: "Data::Alias is doing creepy things that go far beyond the API." The pumpking's judgment at that time was: "Data::Alias is on the hook for this, unless the potential bug-fixer wants to open a new, specific ticket about how he or she would like things addressed." My feeling is that Data::Alias is on the hook for *this* RT as well. My recommendation is that you report this test failure in Data::Alias's own queue at https://rt.cpan.org//Dist/Display.html?Queue=Data-Alias.
