At the request of a few committers, in our recent RT upgrade, we got a new status: pending release. This status means, "we fixed the bug, but only in dev, and not yet in production." I expect we want to use it quite a lot. For anything fixed in blead that won't be available until 5.22.0 (or whatever the next stable is), we'll use "pending release." Then, when 5.22.0 is released, those tickets can be bulk-updated in RT with a notice that the fix is now in blead. Alternately, it can be marked resolved when released in a maint version or dual-life CPAN upload. I worry about the care required to get the ticket resolved early when a fix is available pre-next-stable-zero-release, though. Still, notice somewhat too late is probably greatly superior to notice much too early. -- rjbsThread Next
