DAVEM TPF grant#2 report #10, #11

(this report covers two weeks)

I continued working mostly working on a single ticket,

    RT#120692 Slow global pattern match with input from utf8

I've fixed the bug in the original RT ticket, but the work how now morphed
into a general code review and fixup of Perl_re_intuit_start(), which is
700+ lines of incomprehensible regex optimisation code. I'm gradually
learning what it all does, and spotting errors (especially utf8 errors)
and doing fixups and refactoring etc.
