Seems to be to make the reader aware of what XS achieves.  Knowing
that is somewhat useful when writing conventional XS.  But there's a
greater benefit of knowing it, which is to make it possible to switch
to hand rolling on those occasions when XS lacks the required power.
For example, it's exactly what one needs to understand the xsub portion
of Params::Classify.
