Jim misread, I believe, and thought that the problem was your mistyping of
"install Term::Readline::Gnu" rather than ReadLine was at fault.  I don't think
that's the case.

The CPAN.pm issue seems to be distinct from the main thrust of this ticket,
which was about warnings.  I suggest you take it up with
https://rt.cpan.org/Dist/Display.html?Name=CPAN especially if you can provide
any more information.  I wonder if there's something in your environment?

At any rate, I am not a CPAN.pm expert, and CPAN.pm is mostly supported by the
CPAN.pm bug queue, rather than p5p.  I have not heard any other reports of this
problem and I can't reproduce it on the boxes I've upgraded to 5.18.x.  From
this position, I can't offer any help, even if this ticket *was* all about this
CPAN.pm error.
