This is a bug report for perl from fraserbn@gmail.com,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.39 running under perl 5.16.2.

This triggers the warning:
$ perl -we 'if (my $f = 2) {}'
Found = in conditional, should be == at -e line 1.

But these don't:
$ perl -Mconstant=foo,2 -we 'if (my $f = foo) {}'
$ perl -we 'sub foo () {2} if (my $f = foo) {}'
$ perl -we 'BEGIN{ $::{foo} = \2 } if (my $f = foo) {}'
