This was applied to blead as 47c9d59fcd27684d94480b806b8b6e001aac91cc,
and was included in 5.18.

It hasn't been backported to maint-5.16 or maint-5.14.

The patch requires a small change to apply to maint-5.16, I've attached
the modified patch.

If a couple of committers speak up I'll apply it to maint-5.16 (or
someone else can.)

I've added this ticket as a 5.16.4 blocker.
