I've attached an updated patch that applies to perlgit.pod. WRT to updating RT - it would be nice, but I think we need to document how to deal with the current behaviour, rather than expecting that sometime soon it will preserve patches. If that happens, then cool, we can revert this change. I'll apply this in a few days unless there's too much screaming.
