[perl #112538] Feature request - alternate syntax and features for smart matching - [?] {?}

Reviewing this older ticket this evening, it appears to me that (a) the
original poster was requesting additional/alternate syntax/features for
smart-matching; (b) several porters responded that smartmatch already
has too many problems; (c) porters suggested alternative approaches; and
(d) the discussion then went off in a different direction.

I recommend closing this ticket and am taking it for the purpose of
closing it within 7 days unless someone wishes to provide a patch and
keep the discussion going.
