I agree, somewhat reluctantly (given my love-hate relationship with man).

As long as we support man as a primary back-end for pod (which I
suspect we will forever), we need to do this. And as Nicholas already
mentioned, postponing fixing this is not a scalable solution.

Agreed, though probably he didn't consider this contentious when he
committed this.
