Although it seems to have been largely glossed over in these two tickets, the
reported issue of "P" being treated incorrectly in the debugger is obviously a
real problem.  Thank you for reporting it.

It seems to have been introduced in 584420f022db57225e9644b9c6668ff9f567984a.
This commit removed the experimental "assertions" feature that existed only in
the 5.9 series.  The "P" command was described, enigmatically, as "something to
do with assertions."

I have pushed a fix for that in ce1a680.
