Interesting. I was not aware of that. As I'd said elsewhere, I was aware
that FreeBSD *at one point* had removed it, but I wasn't sure if that had
ever been in a release.

How widespread is CentOS in low end hosting providers?
And does the deployed version typically lag in the way that we know and
love for the commercial users of the CentOS upstream distribution?
(ie many people are still using RHEL with 5.8.8)
