IIRC, ExtUtils::MakeMaker led Module::Build by more than a 4 to 1 ratio. I suspect the ratio has stayed roughly the same over time. When we've ultimately done whatever we decide to do, it would be interesting to have a retrospective on the course of M::B's development. What succeeded? What didn't?
