There is a Module::Build mailing list: http://lists.perl.org/list/module-build.html That is probably the right rallying-point, if there is anyone to rally. When I announced I was stepping down as release manager in March 2011, it wasn't until October 2011 that Leon graciously stepped up to be the "caretaker" manager. * http://grokbase.com/t/perl/module-build/113561ht1h/time-for-a-new-module-build-release-manager * http://grokbase.com/t/perl/module-build/11an8kvz5g/new-module-build-patch-release-manager And there have been no volunteers since to take on even the little bit of housekeeping that Leon has done. Regardless, I don't see it as having any place in core any more because the CPAN toolchain has evolved to be able to bootstrap *any* build tool, which wasn't the case back in 5.9.X.
