I use 80-column terminal windows all the time, and do occasionally use
perldoc in them; far more often I read raw POD in source files in an
80-column vi window.

Maybe I'm a troglodyte, but I'm a happy one - modern technology allows me
to have many more 80-column terminal windows on the screen than of yore.
