I built and tested a slightly later commit today:

This is perl 5, version 17, subversion 12 (v5.17.12 (v5.17.11-15-g2ac1dd0)) built for darwin-
2level

'make test' passed and the test in question passed when run manually via 'harness'.  So I 
concur that the ticket is closable and am closing it.
