This is a bug report for perl from wyant@cpan.org,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.39 running under perl 5.17.11.

The perl51711delta.pod file mentions, way down in the weeds, that the
split() built-in now handles an expression evaluating to ' ' the same as
a literal ' ' in the first argument.

Since this change caused a test failure in Template-Toolkit (see RT
#84778), would you consider documenting it in the "Incompatible Changes"
section when 5.18 comes out?
