Oops, I didn't mean "deprecate" as such, some sloppy wording of mine there. I'm well aware of the mass breakage that would result were we to remove it, so no I didn't mean to suggest we do anything of that sort. I simply meant we should rework bits of documentation, suggest that people use ::IP in favour of ::INET where possible, have a go at starting to change bits of other core modules that use ::INET, and so on.
