I recently released a new dev version of Data::Dumper. That version lost 5.8.9 compatibility. Given the rather low level of D::D in the toolchain, I'd really rather keep it working on 5.8.1 and up (or so) for some time. Does somebody have an idea what could have caused this? http://www.cpantesters.org/cpan/report/b43a679c-2dd9-11e1-9d6f-f6dbfa7543f5 Are we just testing for the non-existence of a bug that was fixed in core outside of Data::Dumper? Should we only run the test if perl is 5.10 or better? Is the test bogus? Is it a real DD code change that breaks stuff on 5.8? Cheers, SteffenThread Next
