Stevan just asked me to try building/testing perl-5.15.3 candidate. On OS X,
it was fine.

On Solaris, I have two kinds of failure. If make is Sun's make, I get this:

  make: Fatal error in reader: Makefile, line 103: Badly formed macro
  assignment

That happens when ./Configure tries to make depends. Configure then exits 0,
but further `make`-ing fails. Someone seems to have put some gmake-ism in
Makefile.

If make is gmake, Configure completes, then I get:

  `sh  cflags "optimize='-O'" perlmini.o`  -DPERL_IS_MINIPERL -DPERL_EXTERNAL_GLOB perlmini.c
          CCCMD =  /opt/SUNWspro/bin/cc -DPERL_CORE -c -m64 -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DPERL_USE_SAFE_PUTENV  -O
  "/usr/include/stdbool.h", line 42: #error: "Use of <stdbool.h> is valid only in a c99 compilation environment."
  cc: acomp failed for perlmini.c
  gmake: *** [perlmini.o] Error 2
