random samples as I write this:

 10:37:46 up 657 days, 10:11,  1 user,  load average: 4.95, 5.17, 5.21

 10:38:15 up 657 days, 10:12,  1 user,  load average: 5.13, 5.20, 5.22


six seems to be about the right level of overcommitting. At least,
currently :-)
