Hello all:

Apologies for the confusion this has caused. I sent in my patch
without realizing Chas. had already sent an alternative patch. There
was some discussion regarding Chas.' proposal and it grew into
something much more significant. Since Renée Bäcker had already
pointed out the duplicate nature of my proposal, I figured that was it
and assumed it would be ignored.

On the other hand, I do see some value in there being a simple one
line entry for $# as new programmers trying to find documentation for
$#ary may still check perlvar.pod without thinking about looking at a
section titled "Names that are no longer special".

Apologies for the confusion.
