There really isn't a new version number scheme -- but the pace of
releases is changing and that's changing the de facto support levels.
There are no plans for further updates to 5.10, whereas there will be
updates to 5.12 -- one very soon and others quarterly if needed until
next spring when 5.14 is released.

I would target the 5.12.1 release.
