Some I think, yes. There's a later smoke now posted to the list (though I can't find a URL for it yet). > If not, a verbose failure report would be stellar. I'll try to write up what I know about what's still failing. I've been juggling multiple things in crunch mode lately and unable to get any time for Perl fixes. > On a somewhat-related note, I've managed to get myself set up with a > "hobbyist" copy of PersonalAlpha and with VMS media. You'll need a free DECUSserve membership in order to get free hobbyist licenses. See <http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/1416> It's all perfectly legal as long as you're not using the system for commercial purposes. PersonalAlpha is the free version of a very impressive emulation product. Bear in mind that it's true emulation, though, not hypervisor-style virtualization, so it will be much, much slower than the host system. The free version is also limited to a miniscule slice of memory by today's standards (I think it's 256MB). Basically it's designed to be a drop-in replacement for a mid-1990s workstation, and it does that admirably. It is possible to do a build of a recent Perl on one of these (I've done it) but it might take 12-24 hours depending on the host system. > >> SMOKE4342f4d6df6a7dfa22a470aa21e54a5622c009f3 >> >> Failures: (common-args) none >> [default] >> t/io/ >> errno.....................................................FAILED at >> test 2 >> t/io/ >> inplace...................................................FAILED-- >> unexpected output at test 4 >> t/re/ >> reg_posixcc...............................................FAILED-- >> unexpected output at test 1507 >> t/op/ >> filetest_t................................................FAILED at >> test 1 >> t/op/ >> ref.......................................................FAILED at >> test 117 >> cpan/ExtUtils-CBuilder/t/02- >> link...............................FAILED at test 8 >> cpan/Module-Build/t/ >> basic......................................FAILED at test 6 >> cpan/Module-Build/t/ >> compat.....................................FAILED at test 142 >> cpan/Module-Build/t/ >> install_extra_target.......................FAILED at test 4 >> cpan/Module-Build/t/properties/ >> module_name.....................FAILED at test 2 >> cpan/Module-Build/t/properties/ >> share_dir.......................FAILED at test 14 >> cpan/Pod-Parser/t/pod/ >> find.....................................FAILED--expected 4 tests, >> saw 1 >> dist/base/t/ >> fields-5.6.0.......................................FAILED--no >> leader found >> dist/base/t/ >> fields-5.8.0.......................................FAILED--no >> leader found >> dist/ExtUtils-Install/t/ >> InstallWithMM..........................FAILED at test 3 >> t/porting/ >> diag.................................................FAILED-- >> unexpected output at test 0 >> >> [default] -Duseithreads >> t/io/ >> errno.....................................................FAILED at >> test 2 >> t/io/ >> inplace...................................................FAILED-- >> unexpected output at test 4 >> >> -- >> Report by Test::Smoke v1.39 build 1235 running on perl 5.10.0 >> (Reporter v0.035 / Smoker v0.044) >> > > -- ________________________________________ Craig A.
