smoking 22 commits ahead of blead???

I'm confused...

Recent blead smokes have subject lines like:

    Smoke [5.11.0] blead-1877-g3fdd68c FAIL(FM) MSWin32 Win2000 SP4 (x86/1

(note the 1877), whereas on my system, I see:

    $ pwd
    /home/davem/perl5/git/bleed

    $ git pull
    Already up-to-date.

    $ git describe
    GitLive-blead-1855-g663b33b

    $ git log 3fdd68c
    fatal: ambiguous argument '3fdd68c': unknown revision or path not in the work
    $

What gives?
