This is a thank-you report for perl from nick@ccl4.org,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.39 running under perl v5.8.9.

The newspapers this morning make pretty depressing reading. I remarked
upon this to Bernard when I met him in my study after breakfast. 'They're
all saying that since I've been in office nothing has changed.'

'You must be very proud,' said Bernard.

I explained to him that it was not a compliment, even though it might
appear so from a Civil Service perspective. 'I've read ten of London's
morning newspaper,' I admitted, which is surely above and beyond the call
of duty, 'and there's not a good word about me in nine of them.'

'But the tenth is better?' queried Bernard, mistaking my implication.

'The tenth is worse!' I explained. 'It doesn't mention me at all'

[Yes Prime Minister, Volume II, P105. I don't have the book right here right
now so can't do the proper citation format. It's at home. I'm at work. And
it's probably not something you can get anymore - seems to be single volume
only now:

The use.perl announcement is up

If your favourite CPAN mirror doesn't have it by now, it should stop being
your favourite CPAN mirror.

And thanks to Ask and Robert for fixing up the first bug of the release -
no-one had tested the perlthanks utility. So this is a "test, please ignore".
Obviously. :-)
