This is a bug report for perl from norbi@nix.hu,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.35 running under perl v5.8.8.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I had contacted Damian with this issue, but unfortunately he doesn't have
the time to work on maintaining his modules presently (because of his
serious family medical problems). He told me that since NEXT is a
dual-life CPAN/core module, the Perl 5 maintainers may help me.
He asked me to pass on his apologies that he is not able to handle this
himself.
The bug report and my proposed patch are recorded in #36956 on
rt.cpan.org.
