$ touch foo.c baar.o "foo bar.o"
$ ls *.c *.o
baar.o  foo bar.o  foo.c  xx.c
$ csh
% ls *.c *.o
baar.o  foo bar.o  foo.c  xx.c
%

There is nothing more to it than that
