Change 30608 (17 March 2007)

Note that the change has:
# study $DATA

This test/patch came via [perl #41831] (problem was also reported as  
[perl #36984]), but the test/patch has:
study $DATA
Does someone remember why the study was commented?
The bug only manifested itself if study was used.

So basically, the change is (I believe) one big no-op since it does  
not fully test what it should be testing.

A patch that restores study $DATA is attached.
