[perl #52368] Issues installing Perl 5.10

Good Morning,

I'm wondering if I can get some assistance with Perl 5.10 install. I'm currently running Perl 5.8.2 and trying to install 5.10.
.Configure appears to run ok and does generate config.sh. But when I run 'make' this is what I get;

ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: .floor
ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: .fmod
ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: .atan2
ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: sqrt
ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: sin
ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: cos
ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: exp
ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: log
ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: .ceil
ld: 0711-345 Use the -bloadmap or -bnoquiet option to obtain more information.
collect2: ld returned 8 exit status
make: The error code from the last command is 1.


Stop.

This is the syntax I use for Configure;

./Configure -des -Dcc=C -Dprefix=/opt/perl.510


My system is a IBM P550 running AIX 5.3  (uname -a reports > AIX cc2-new 3 5 00CDCB8D4C00)

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
