There are a few things listed out at the Summer of Code wiki page <http://www.perlfoundation.org/perl5/index.cgi?gsoc2008_projects>. Some of the items listed there for Perl 5, however, certainly aren't going to fill a full time summer for anyone, much less a few hours. For example, I just added autobox in one of my test environments in a couple of minutes. Honestly, I'd love to see some of the SVK tasks worked on, especially the Eclipse plugin. Java and Perl experience. That would be a pretty good selling point to get a decent Summer of Coder.
