On reflection, I'd like to have a development environment that keeps track of the modification times on all subroutines and the tree of what subroutines call what subroutines, allowing a magic invocation such as perl -MWhadeyedoo launcher.pl to suggest places to look at when things break after an interface change. svn diff is pretty close, but does require a little care and feeding. The level of machine-based mindreading required to correctly determine when to automatically correct nondisindirection of an arrayref is clearly left to dreams.
