BBC(Bleadperl Breaks CPAN) Today: Net::Daemon (0.43)
Message ID:
Dear Malcolm,

as you probably know this series of postings to perl5-porters tries to
identify the issues that come up when running the development versions
of perl against the huge test harness of all available CPAN modules.
Most of the time (and also today) I do not have suggestions for a fix,
just collecting data. Here goes:

For perls with thread support Net::Daemon 0.43 has a test against the module, t/thread.t. is nowadays only a
compatibility wrapper and apparently is not exactly working like the
old implementation. Your test uncovers some incompatibility.

Up to patch 27704 your module passed all tests and skipped none.

From patch 27705 to 30952 the thread.t test was skipped because was totally broken (as it seems).

Since patch 30953 the thread.t test was not skipped anymore because
Thread->new started working but then the test fails with:

  t/thread........Error while reading 0: 0 () at t/thread.t line 42.

  Perl exited with active threads:
          0 running and unjoined
          1 finished and unjoined
          0 running and detached
  FAILED test 4
          Failed 1/5 tests, 80.00% okay
