[perl #42604] Undefined value in File::Spec::Unix -- causing possible problems with FindBin and Cwd on local release

This is a bug report for perl from,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.35 running under perl v5.8.5.

[Please enter your report here]

I see the following error when trying to run a script with the default Perl (this doesn't occur with the 5.8.2 version binary from what I've seen):

bash-3.00$ pwd; perl -c ./bin/
Use of uninitialized value in join or string at /usr/intel/pkgs/perl/5.8.5/lib/5.8.5/File/Spec/ line 73.
./bin/ syntax OK

I've noticed that FindBin doesn't function correctly, and Cwd::abs_path can be strange at times with this release (returns "" instead of absolute path to file).

I don't have root access, so I can't change the libs to add debugging printouts.

Thanks in advance!
