Alpha versions of Perl 6 are already being released. They are also available in
some of the Linux distributions.
In Ubuntu you can do "sudo aptitude install pugs" and you get it in Gentoo you
can do "emerge pugs". I have not checked in on rpm based distros.

There is some material out there on various web sites on how to write Perl 6.
