I agree with everything all parties have said in this thread so far. However, because this is Perl *5* Porters, it is by definition the wrong place for a discussion on Perl 6. It is perhaps unfortunate that while there is only one place for discussing Perl 5 development, there are (probably too) many places for discussing Perl 6 development. I *think* this belongs in perl6-meta, although I'm not sure. The main failing of Perl 6 development may be that it has not enrolled the assistance of some key people in the Perl 5 world, or sustained their interest over 6.5 years of development. Leading to a Catch-22 of the people left in P6 development wondering when they're going to get help and the people on the outside wondering when they're going to get a P6 to help with. I do think that Perl 6 could use some of their "enough already, let's get something out there" energy. -- Peter Scott
