A rewrite of a large complex project will often take less time than trying to shove a ton of old legacy code through a round hole (*cough*) and thats only if you have the man power. I'm part of a much smaller project that has been planning "version 5" for about 6 years now, and that's all but dropped since there isn't enough people to do an entire rewrite, so we have to do the incremental updates, a piece here, a piece there, and that is taking quite some time. -- Thomas Fjellstrom tfjellstrom@gmail.com
