Larry didn't like a lot of the feature proposals, because he felt that they didn't fit together nicely - almost all had been considered in isolation. For a lot of the proposals he felt that the problem being addressed was valid, just not the proposed solution. Perl 6 does change quite a lot from Perl 5 (including the concatenation operator twice), and it doesn't seem afraid to do this. Some people don't like specific changes, and have stated that they will not migrate. Other people like the self-same changes (or the knock on change that it permits).
