I have nothing left on *my* TODO list.
I some some recent ramblings on changes to Configure

  - adding -X
  - initial value of NV_PRESERVES_UV_BITS

If you like, I'll do the -X asap, as there were no objections, and
the approach as discussed was quite sane

As long as no-one explicitly tells me to alter the behaviour regarding
the second item, I will take no action.

There is a minor thing I still have to /check/ in the hpux hints regarding
version reporting of the C compiler, but I think that it was already addressed
