I was wondering why my smoke build failed the io_unix.t test
but when testing in /tmp things worked fine. The answer was
that the the filesystem where the smoke build was conducted
was mounted with more restrictive settings.

The patch retries creating the socket in the temp directory
if creating it in the current working directory fails. I guess
this undoes in a small way the security patch that earlier removed
the use of /tmp, but I cannot see how to avoid this (/tmp is likely
to have permissions to create sockets). Any testing of the outputs
of df(1) and mount(1) and whatever different systems have is wrought
with fragility, I don't want to go there.
