I didn't imply that it was. If it were, then the best definition would
probably be "example code", as that is what it is almost always used
for.

Of course it's not *needed*. No tutorial is, no part of any tutorial is.
It is, however, nice to have.

Again: no, there's no need. But yes, I would have liked if I read that
somewhere in documentation. Knowing what it means now makes me happy.
